Why do we do the work of evangelism?
Why do we proclaim Christ Jesus as the Savior and Lord so that men, women, boys and girls come to trust Him for salvation from sin?
Some will say that we will receive rewards from God for such activity. Though it is true that the Lord will one day reward love-motivated labor, this is not the supreme reason.
Some will say that evangelism is done because of the lost condition of people without Christ. True, but is this the foremost reason for evangelistic activity? No, it is not.
Some say that we evangelize because the Lord has told us to do so. Yes, this is also true, but only the second best reason.
Use the letters in the name "GOD" as an acrostic to determine why we evangelize. Do you understand?
G = Glorifies God.
O = Obeys God.
D = Delivers from sin by God.
Be sure to begin with G !
